I was inspired to do this project after hearing many stories of women trying to share their story but being silenced by society. I wanted to make an art piece that represented this struggle that women face. I had to decide how I wanted to represent this issue in a powerful way. I wanted to include quotes and something covering the woman's mouth to represent how she is silenced. I made a few changes as I worked but decided on using speech bubbles to represent voices speaking over hers.
I hope viewers will understand the struggle that women constantly face as they are pushed down and silenced. I also hope female viewers feel heard and represented when they see this piece.
